The chemical explosion in the Packaging Corporation took place in the chemical storage area due to a leaking storage tank.

Storage tanks holding sensitive chemicals are reported to leak very often because of the chemical properties of the liquid it holds. Since the incident took place and shocked the entire world because no one can dream of such an incident in a highly advanced country like the United States of America, attaching a liquid level indicator to every storage tank has become mandatory. The indicator is a very useful device to warn the concerned staff about the unusual drainage of the liquid. As the use of chemicals in the production area is strictly measured, any unusual dip in the level would clearly raise the alarm.
