Controlling the flow of liquids is an
important task in the factories. The huge storage tanks of the factories
are fitted with big pipes which are capable to transfer many gallons at
the same time. The gush of the liquids can cause chaos at the other end
(in the production area) if the flow is uncontrolled. The huge pressure
and the huge quantity of the liquids can cause the taps to burst and
flood the area. The huge tanks and containers are capable to store
hundreds of gallons of liquids at the same time. Their usefulness can
become the biggest cause of destruction if mishandled.
To control the flow and pressure of liquids in the pipes and the tanks a
liquid level indicator
is used. A special person is assigned to keep the monitors and gauges
under constant surveillance. Reports are made every hour to keep a
record of the flow and availability of the liquids in the tanks and
pipes. These reports are forwarded to the managers of the concerned
departments who can also keep track of their usage and the reserve stock
in the tanks and storage containers.
Stock of the resources
matters the most when it comes to planning the production. The daily,
weekly and monthly targets are set according to the reports of the
stock. A sudden or unexpected rise or dip is taken as a serious issue
and reported to the managers instantly. If the dip is unexpected and
unplanned, the store managers are asked about the issuance of more than
the agreed quantity. The production managers are also inquired for the
excessive use of it. If both ends are cleared and none reports of
excessive consuming, it is evident that the tanks or the pipes have
sprung a leak. The maintenance department is called in to inspect and
report the leak.
With the help of the
ultrasonic level indicator
the leak is hunted. The unique ability of the ultrasonic device allows
the staff to learn about the pin point location of the leak without
dismantling the entire setup. Dismantling the entire pipes and tanks can
disrupt the entire production process and the costs occurring will be
too high to bear. Dismantling could also result in calling some external
skilled professionals who will also charge heavily for their services
and this would only add insult to the injury.
