The United States’ ice cream industry
is selling more than one billion gallons of ice cream every year, giving
out cones, huge cartons that can hold a gallon, pints, sundaes and many
different desserts containing ice cream via ice cream shops and grocery
stores. It is estimated that, up to 8% of all the milk that is produced
in the country is consumed to make a frozen dairy product. Although ice
cream can be made at home, but it is a very complex procedure and the
time it takes to prepare can be unnerving. So people prefer to buy it
from their local grocery store, ice cream shops or the ice cream vans.
Manufacturing
ice creams in factories is not an easy job either, but since there are
people employed to perform specific roles, it can be produced in a
massive quantity. It all starts with the arrival of milk in the factory.
Specifically built tankers carry all the milk from the dairy farms and
unload it in the special containers present in the factory. For the best
records and consumption in measurement, every liter is measured by the
liquid level indicator.
It helps the staff to learn about the quantity of milk that has
arrived. Learning about the availability of the amount of milk helps
them in planning the production and setting targets.
Ice cream
cannot be made without ice cream mix. That is the second basic
ingredient and most of the factories buy it ready made to save time.
Since it is made by adding a variety of materials, it is a hectic task
to produce and is done best by the factories that specialize in making
it. Factories making ice cream buy them in bulk as it saves them time,
money and space also. If they (ice cream factories) would consider
making the mix on their own, they would have to start an entire new
department and the setup would not be cheap either.
For the best results every process is carefully measured using the
ultrasonic level indicator.
Since it is a non contact measuring device and the ultrasonic rays do
not harm the product or humans, it can be easily used without any fear.
The non contact measuring device provides an edge because there is no
chance of any contamination due to it. Milk is very sensitive to
contamination and can easily be destroyed so the ultrasonic level
indicator plays a vital role during the entire process.
