There are some things that we cannot live without. Food being the basic necessity of our lives and water is the only thing that has made existence of life possible on this and any other planet. Since we are past the age where gathering enough food to feed a clan was a huge problem, we have enough resources to last for a century without thinking about growth. The dairy industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the United Sates and the rest of the world. We now not only have the pasteurized milk cartons as a dairy product, we have a lot of variety to choose from such as ice-cream, cheese, bakery items and a lot more things.

We have huge factories today which are capable to supply tons of products in a month. Supply and production is not a problem but maintaining the factory is a huge problem. Since it is necessary to keep raw milk away from every kind of infection, there are huge tanks in the factory that completely seal the milk from the outside world once the lids are closed. During their use, these tanks often get weary and start developing leaks that are not visible to the human eye. These leaks have been reported to have caused major losses by dripping milk or by the inlet of air which contaminated the entire milk. To fight this issue the method of checking tightness of hatch with ultrasound as is used in the marine industry has been adopted.

By checking it the same way as hatch covers of cargo holds are tested, the hidden leaks in the tank can be found out easily. Repairing them is easy once you know the exact location of the hole that is hidden from the eye. The method to test is the same, assemble the kit and make sure that the batteries are fully charged (in case you are using rechargeable batteries) for the receiver and the generator. It is recommended to always use new batteries for the best results.

Now comes the process where the generator is turned on and placed inside the tank. Finally the lid is closed tightly and the hatch cover ultrasonic tightness testing begins. Carefully progressing inch by inch for the best result, the areas where the pulse is heard are marked. After the entire body has been scanned the receiver is turned off and the lid opened. The generator is taken out and the entire kit is placed back in the case and put away for future testing. Call in the repairmen and begin repairing to make room for the next delivery that is coming in for processing.
