We hear a lot about measuring liquids
and the need to measure liquids in factories. The demand is being raised
due to many concerns where safety and cutting costs is one of the core
issues. A
liquid level indicator
is being used in more than just a single industry now. Its use has been
accepted by almost all the huge industries and there are many different
types of these liquid level monitoring devices and gadgets being used
in the different areas. There are many different types of monitoring
gadgets available in the markets today. Some of the commonest are as
listed below.
See through glass strip indicatorAs
almost clear by its name, this type of indicator is a glass strip from
where the human eye can see through and monitor the level. Usually this
indicator is attached to small containers which do not hold too many
gallons of liquid. As the more liquid you pour into the container the
more pressure it builds on the walls, the see through glass liquid
indicator is used in small tanks and container mostly which contain
samples.
Suspended buoy (float indicator)For
the tanks which hold high amount of liquids, possibly in hundreds or
even more, the plastic buoy suspended through a chain is used as the
indicator. As the buoy stays afloat the liquid, as the level rises and
drops, so does the buoy which is attached to the gauge through a chain.
The movement within the tank is visible on the gauge outside and the
staff can read the liquid level on it.
Radar wave liquid monitoring gadgetThis
is one of the fastest battery operated liquid level reading gadget
available today. A small electronic device remains at the top with an
iron or an alloy stick protruding from it which is immersed in the
liquid until the bottom. The device creates radar waves which travel at
lightning speed all the way to the very end and bounce back as soon they
touch the liquid’s surface. The distance and time a wave travels
calculates the measurement of the liquid level.
Ultrasonic liquid level indicatorThis
is somewhat quite similar in functionality with the radar wave but it
differs from all other because it has no part touching the liquid in any
way. The
ultrasonic level indicator
is totally a non touch measuring device and it uses the ultrasonic
waves which are completely harmless. Since it does not need to touch,
nor does the waves cause harm, it is the safest to use and can be used
with any kind of liquids.
