Ultrasonic sensors are widely used for measuring liquid levels in tough containers and complex situations. However when the liquid is foamy or in an uneven situation (ripples or wavy) the level detection can be a problem because waves would return with uneven interval. In this situation claiming the ultrasonic level indicator as a failure isn’t the right thing to do because there is a solution to it. By applying the right method, any type of liquid can be measured no matter in what state or condition it is.

Simply placing the transducer on the container’s wall will enable it to detect the liquid inside the container. Opening the lid is only advised in situations when the liquid is in an unstable position or there is any kind of blockage in the container. In reality, an ultrasonic device is always better than ordinary liquid level indicators for tanks.
