Liquid management is becoming a huge
department in many factories, oil rigs, power generation plants,
construction sites and commercial and residential buildings. As the
human population multiplies each year; the demand for raw materials,
finished products and natural resources increases rapidly all over the
globe. Facilitating the population with the demands that emerge each
year, the factories are now expanding rapidly and the digging up of
minerals is also increasing.
Water is one of the most precious
natural resource and it is being used the most all over the world in
various uses. The commercial and residential complexes are known to be
the biggest users of water after the factories. Keeping an unfailed
massive supply of the liquids is truly one of the toughest tasks and to
manage the supply huge sized water tanks are being installed. The only
way to monitor the level of water inside these huge tanks is through the
liquid level indicator which is either installed right beside the water tank, or inside the maintenance department’s office or in both the places.
Today
it is emphasized to have the indicator present in both the places for a
better way to verify the measurement. The readings are compared on both
the indicators to ensure that they are both working accurately. There
are a variety of indicators being used in the many different areas
today. Based upon the amount of water to be stored in the tank, the
indicator is installed accordingly. The most commonly used indicator is
the float suspended on the surface of water and attached by a chain.
When
the water level inside the tank increases or decreases, the float that
stays on the surface also rises and falls accordingly. This causes the
needle on the gauge outside to change its position letting the people
know about the water level inside the tank. In some cases the gauge is
often known to show wrong readings. This happens when the liquid
indicator has been installed for a long time. The chain catches rust and
the mechanism often turns faulty. In such a situation the best method
is to verify which indicator is showing the wrong reading. This is
verified by the
ultrasonic level indicator
which is now kept as a backup or sometimes a primary source of
measuring also. This device can now be found in almost every factory,
commercial complexes and most residential areas too.
