The need to measure liquids has become
immense as the production capacity of factories has not only doubled,
it has multiplied. Factories now need to procure the necessary liquids
in bulk to meet their demands of the production targets. Since meeting
deadlines has also become necessary, there is no room for a backlog or
any delays pertaining to the production process. Hence the need for a
bigger storage area has become indispensible and now factories span over
a large area.
Since the use of chemicals has increased during
the production process, there are many sensitive liquids being used in
the factories now. Storing such a high quantity of the sensitive liquids
requires special permission from the government because it can pose a
great threat to the surroundings and most importantly, to the people
working around it. Hence these liquids are stored in the single skinned
containers and since the single skinned containers do not have any
opening other than the inlet and outlet, the best way to measure them is
with the
ultrasonic liquid level detector.
To
manage a perfect production process without any glitches and hiccups,
the best strategy is to have all the necessary materials ready to be
used. As the production targets are not just a few dozen but in
thousands, the materials required for it are also in the greatest
quantity imaginable. Think how much liquid is required to fill one
thousand bottles each containing more than a gallon. And this is the
production target of just a single shift in a day and each day a factory
runs at least three shifts.
Consider the size of the tank
holding all that liquid in it waiting to be emptied in bottles and once
the last drop runs out of it, it would be refilled and the process would
start again. Today the strategy is to refill the tank without running
the last drop out of it. Once the last drop runs out, the refilling
process of such a huge tank would take hours and it would be a waste of
precious time.
In order to keep the filling process continuous, the liquid’s level is monitored on the
liquid level indicator
and as the levels are reported low, the taps are turned on and the
pumps are started to refill the huge tank. Refilling is a responsible
task because there is every chance the tank can overflow resulting in a
loss of the precious liquid. Hence a person continuously keeps a watch
on the liquid level indicator and turns off the pumps just in time to
prevent the overflow.
