To manage a huge order supply of a
merchant the production facility has to be equally capable of handling
the order. The production facility has to have a horde of workers who
can process the order effectively and meet the targets not only on a
daily basis, but even every hour. Making production on such a huge scale
a reality is no easy task and there is one crucial factor worth
considering, and it is to manage enough stock of the necessary
materials. Hence the huge production facilities have equally huge
storage areas.
Since a lot of liquids are also to be used in the
various phases, liquid management is a part of the storage areas.
Liquids in large quantities cannot be stored in small barrels; hence the
factories house a number of massive sized storage tanks. These storage
tanks have a capacity to contain many thousand liters of liquids inside
them. The task of managing liquids not only ends with providing an area
for storage, it also needs to be measured consistently. Thus a
liquid level indicator is used to measure these huge storage tanks.
Measuring
the liquids is important basically for three reasons. The first reason
is to keep a record of all the liquids that have been used. Maintaining a
record helps in learning about the amount of liquids still available
for further use. Knowing about the amount that can be used is important
to plan out the daily targets for the production lines. Since production
targets are made on a monthly basis, but they are regularly changed on a
daily basis keeping in view the stock available for use. If some lines
fall short in meeting their targets, a portion of their target is
assigned to the line ahead of its target and the quota of the resources
is also given to it.
The second reason to know about the
availability of liquids and other materials is learning about the
production costs. As the materials are used, the cost of the production
becomes clearer to the management. It helps determine if the goods are
being prepared within the budget. In case a product needs more materials
than was originally planned, the client is informed and a price is
negotiated. The third purpose is to know if the liquids are needed to be
procured or it would be enough to linger the procurement for the next
month. In many cases liquids are hard to measure by the standard gadgets
and the
ultrasonic level indicator is used. But no matter which device is used for measuring the liquids, these above three purposes are the real factors.
