Why Use the Ultrasonic Level Indicator
Following the business trends of the modern era, the manufacturers are switching to produce lightweight and quality products. It has become a huge challenge for the manufacturers to produce quality products that are not heavy in weight. Since all the products need to be handy, they need to be light enough to be lifted by the hand without hurting the user. Because of this issue, we find most products made from plastic because it is lightweight and durable. Plastic takes a lot of time to decay and is a lightweight material which can be molded into any shape and size. This is why we find a vast majority of products made from plastic even car parts.

Liquids of various types are widely used in the manufacturing of plastic and a lot of other alloy products. The storing of these liquids is not an easy task because for the manufacturing processes, thousands of gallons of liquid are required on a daily basis. Since these liquids are mostly diluted acids and bases, they need special containers to be stored in and cannot be kept in the ordinary tanks. Keeping then in the ordinary tanks would put the tank at risk of exploding, leaking or even melting from the high powered acids. The special storage tanks are designed in a way they will not react with these highly sensitive liquids. Each tank is fitted with a liquid level indicator so that there wouldn’t be any need to open the lid to take a look inside and see the liquid level inside.

Some of the liquid storage tanks can be very huge in size. It depends upon the usage of the liquid in the manufacturing process. If the liquid is very high in demand, the consumption would be in a very large scale and thus the storage tank would also be according to the amount it needs to hold. In the cleaning and washing departments of many factories, water consumption is very high. Thousands of gallons of water is used during a single shift and most of the factories have three shifts running consecutively on a daily basis. This automatically raises the demand of water in such a high quantity.

Storage of some liquids is a huge risk and hazardous to the environment. As these liquids are known to produce fumes and are highly volatile, they need to be covered perfectly. The most common choice for these kinds of liquids is the single skinned tank with a chimney to let the fumes escape. Since a single skinned container cannot be opened, nor can any tube be passed in it, the only means to measure it is through the ultrasonic level indicator. Measuring from outside the walls of the container, this device allows the staff to learn about the liquid level without fail.
