Measuring liquids in a huge quantity is not the job of a human being. It is best handled by the industrial tools known as the liquid level indicator. It is a device which comes in many shapes and sizes and can measure small and huge liquid tanks and containers. Some are plainly mechanical while some are technology such as the ultrasonic level indicator. The modern day factory consumption and requirements of the liquids has increased as was never before. Today we can see towering containers that can also be as large as a house.

The oil industry such as the edible oil and motor oil industry cannot survive with the liquid level indicator. Since they have to measure it at every stage and that too in huge quantities, the human eye can never be precise in such situations. Also the extreme pressure it undergoes cannot allow the humans to come near them while in process. During manufacturing, gases emerge from the oils which are purely dangerous for humans. If anyone comes in contact with the gases emanating during the process, he can be easily harmed physically and mentally.

Another use of these gauges can be seen in the beverage industry. The mixing of the necessary ingredients is done by measuring precisely. Any ingredient added more or less can easily result in a difference of taste. After the entire process has been completed, the filling of the bottles which is automatic is monitored by the ultrasonic liquid level indicator. Since it is a non contact measuring device, it can easily monitor the filling and would switch off the nozzle when the level has risen to the maximum allowed.

Another industry which uses these gauges and devices is the textile industry or more precisely the dyeing industry. Since they have to apply colors to huge amounts of fabrics, it is only possible by dipping them in huge pool like tanks. In these tanks water is filled to an acceptable level which can easily let the entire fabric sink in. appropriate dyes are added to bring about the desired color and the then the fabric is spun round with a powerful spinning machine.

While there is a plethora of industries that use the ultrasonic level indicator, every one of them cannot be discussed. There are innumerable uses of this device in the industries and also in homes. People are using it in their homes to measure the fire extinguishers and their water tanks. It is a useful device which is speedily becoming a part of every home and industry.
