Procure in bulk
Procurement in bulk provides the ease to negotiate heavily with the suppliers. Of course there is a huge margin to bargain if you are purchasing an element in tons rather than just a few kilos. Liquids are widely used in the manufacturing process. Hence they are stored in huge tanks and containers fitted with a liquid level indicator. Even the solid materials are purchased in bulk quantity and stored in the huge storage areas. The store department usually has hold of these storage areas because after the materials have been procured, it is the responsibility of the store department to distribute them according to the plan.

Distribute as per production capacity
In a production facility, following the lean system and the six sigma theory, the production facility is distributed in lines. The product gets forward in a sequence so that one person has to complete a single task all day long. It increases the accuracy of the person deployed on the job because when all he has to do in a day is tighten the same screws or anything else, he becomes an expert in it and less wastage is produced by him. It is also a matter of quality control.

When the production is distributed among the production lines, it allows the seniors to monitor production level more efficiently. The production targets are distributed among the lines and distribution of materials also gets easy to decide and plan.

Monitor everything that goes in and out
When liquids are to be used in production and we talk about reducing costs, the liquids that are present in the storage tanks and the amount of liquids that is being extracted to be handed over to the production staff is monitored by the low cost ultrasonic liquid level sensor. It helps the departments know which line has used how much liquid and other material too. It also helps in keeping track of the production cost of the product.
