Features of Appreciable Ultrasonic Liquid Level Indicator
Companies like Coltraco started to facilitate a huge dimension of industrial sectors in relations to their monitoring requirements long back. With the orientation of multiple generations of liquid level indicators, these ultrasonic monitoring product are integrated with capability to log and record 1000 cylinders and with mechanism to provide accuracy to measure levels of liquids up to +/-1.5mm (1/8 inch) whereas verifiable agents are CO2, H20, FM-200™, NOVEC™1230, old Halons such as 1301 and 1211, FE-13™, FE-25™, FE-36™, HFC-225 & 2271 and standby battery of 10 hours.

This liquid level indicator is the prior unit with its unbeatable features on an international scale. It is an ultrasonic non-invasive liquid level indicator capable of recording and storing up to 1,000 cylinders worth of readings. The traditional range of liquid gas level indicator is used for identifying the content of critical fire extinguishing cylinders but it is then left up to the operator to accurately record this elsewhere and complete the reporting processes to certify a system. It was due to the disconnection between the physical servicing and data recording that the ultrasonic level indicator was designed to overcome. To avoid the unavailability and inaccuracy can lead to some serious situations so offering multiple solutions has always been the reason of popularity for Coltraco.

During the servicing of each cylinder, operators continually record on the unit: the date, time, cylinder type and unit reading. When the system has been completed, the unit is plugged into a computer and the full data trail of readings can be downloaded and entered directly into system reports. This is how easily this liquid level indicator functions.

This unique capability of ultrasonic leak detector allows fire servicing companies to differentiate themselves from competition by providing high-asset value safety managers certification proof of the servicing having taken place, as well as a record of each cylinder level reading and evidence that during the servicing interval every cylinder was totally full. A wide variety of fire suppressant agents can be monitored including: CO2, Dupont™, FM-200™, NOVEC™1230, old Halons such as 1301 and 1211, FE-13™, FE-25™, FE-36™ and HFC-225 & 227.

Operating Method of Portalevel™ Datalogger
  • Purpose of Sensor
  • The device sends an ultrasonic signal directly into the cylinder using a sensor. The sensor ‘listens’ to the ultrasound signal which is reflected back by the cylinder and its contents
  • Analyzing the Strength of Received Signals
  • It then automatically analyses this information and provides the readout to the user which represents how strong the received signal is.
  • Effect of Material on Signals
  • The way the ultrasonic waves travel through different materials changes the signal which the Portalevel unit receives.
  • Identification of Location
  • The changes in the received signal can then be used to identify the location of the liquid level in a cylinder to an accuracy of ± 1.5 mm
  • Change in Readings from Gas to Liquid Phase
  • There is a large change in readings from the gas phase to the liquid phase. By finding the exact point at which this change occurs the liquid level can be located
  • Generation of Results
  • The results generated with the help of this ultrasonic level indicator can be downloaded onto a computer after testing by linking the unit to the computer with the provided USB cable and PC client software
  • Continuous Storage of Entire Data Produced
  • Using this technique, specific historical records can be built up on each system and the user can obtain verifiable proof of the system’s continuous inspection over time.
