Supplying water to the buildings in a locality is a serious task for the municipality authority. Since each one is allotted an area that comes within their jurisdiction, it is their task to ensure that water does not run out. A special water tank can be seen in the locality which is fairly as large as any huge building. The water is stored in it to be then supplied to the buildings according to the scheduled time. The highly powered pumps lift the water into the towering tank which can easily contain thousands of gallons of water.

To make sure that the water is not wasted due to leaking supply pipes, the main supply pipe which comes in to the tank and the one that leads from the tank to the city are monitored by the ultrasonic level indicator. As this device can measure the flow of water inside the pipes, it makes monitoring the supply easily and verifiable. As the amount of usable water is decreasing at a rapid speed, it is necessary to keep the usage of water in the cities controlled and in the knowledge of the authorities.
